Loch Arkaig
In early 2021 we were appointed by the Woodland Trust to provide a management service for the harvesting and marketing of the timber being harvested in their project of restoring Glen Mallie and Gusach forests to native species.
Glen Mallie 2021/22
In October 2021 harvesting commenced on Phase 1 of Glen Mallie. The coupes harvested in this phase mainly consisted of Sitka Spruce, with some small areas of Lodgepole pine.
Home to lots of ancient Caledonian Pine trees, remnants of a forest fire started in the 1940s by the commando’s so sensitive harvesting was critical.
Glen Mallie 2022/23
Phase 2 was started and underway in September 2022. This time covering an area of over 80ha.
